William Lee Gann Jr (Bill Gann) passed away on December 23, 2025, at his home in Golden, CO, at the age of 67. Bill was a beloved father, friend, son, and brother.
Bill moved around Colorado throughout his childhood, graduating valedictorian from Rye High School in 1976. He attended Colorado School of Mines where he pledged the Sig Ep fraternity, made many lifelong friends, and graduated with a BS in Mining Engineering. Bill spent his professional life in the sciences: as a power plant engineer for Public Service, as a middle school science teacher, and as a Land Surveyor. He spent most of his adult life in Golden, Colorado and a short time in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, a place he truly cherished. Bill was always happiest outdoors, hiking and skiing with his friends. He spent the last few years of his life back in Rye, taking care of his mother, Joann, who passed away in 2024.
Bill was quick-witted and funny, knew something about everything, always had an opinion of current events, loved music and the outdoors, and was one of the kindest people you ever met.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Katie, and his younger siblings, Bob, Pat, and Sandy. Bill was very loved and will be missed terribly, but we know we always can find him in the mountains and in his favorite tunes. A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on March 8, at The Rose Event Center in Golden, CO, at 1 pm.
“Pasta" luego, daddy.
