William (Bill) Earl Brown, 77, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, a love of railroads and the mountains, and most importantly a loving circle of family and friends.
Bill was born in Canton, IL on Dec 12, 1948 to Mary Lou and Dale Brown. He grew up in Canton with his sister Ruthann, then moved to Colorado to attend the University of Denver. Here he met his first wife Jerryann (Weaver) Jascott. After briefly living again in Canton, Bill and Jerryann raised their three children Raymond, Jenelle, and Alan in Arvada, CO until their divorce in 1991. On November 14, 1992, Bill married Jeanette and welcomed her children Christal, Nicholas, and Jason as his family.
Over the course of his life, Bill worked in a variety of accounting and finance jobs, finishing his career with Young Electric Sign Company as a regional manager. He loved working in his yard and was an avid train buff and backpacker. In retirement, Bill was a volunteer at the Colorado Railroad Museum, Lutheran Hospital, and two state parks - first Golden Gate Canyon State Park and then Eldorado Canyon State Park. Bill’s life was characterized by his calm ability to solve any problem, always researching and learning, and his strong sense of purpose to help.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jeanette, 3 children, 3 step children, their spouses (Missy, Andy, and Dawn), and 9 grandchildren: Aidan, Austin, Ashton, Adlai, Robert, MaryAnn, Tyler, Tristin, and Sienna.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ruthann, his mother MaryLou, and his father Dale.
