Tyler Travers Obituary

Tyler Travers, also known lovingly as “Tybrows” and “T-pup” passed away January 21, 2023. Tyler was a son, a brother, a friend. He is survived by his parents, his brother and his three sisters.

Tyler was born in Maryland and moved with his family to Colorado in 1998. As a kid, he would often be seen playing with his beloved dogs, Brandy, Nike, Copper and K.K., a love of animals that followed him into adulthood. Tyler’s teenage years were spent in the company of friends, creating videos, going jeeping, creating memories. Tyler loved playing soccer, a love he shares with his brother, Cody, and his mom, Kathy. Maryland-born like his father Dan,  and a true Coloradan to the bone, he loved spending time in the mountains, capturing their beauty in the pictures he’d take.

Most obituaries are written from the perspective of a single person; however, Tyler has the precious gift of words from many, many people. Through 6 years of sobriety house peer evaluations, a mosaic of Tyler’s heart and soul can be thoughtfully constructed. Numerous friends remarked on his generosity and kindness, “a good human,” “willing to give you the shirt off his back”. Tyler’s sly smirk, his laughter, and his quick wit will be missed greatly. “A hilarious dude. Always cracking up.” Years of living off his own resourcefulness and a hunger for exploration during his endeavor against addiction molded him into an empathetic, perceptive soul. “Too smart for your own good,” “Personable. Open-minded. Empathetic.”Tyler had a strong sense of faith and let his spirituality guide him through the most arduous times. Outside of his struggle with homelessness and addiction, Tyler had a brilliant mind and a passion for entrepreneurship. Some of his proudest moments include the creation of his two businesses, Tyler’s Tree Care and a computer repair business.

A good way to think of Tyler is as his birthstone. Opals often appear fractured, broken. But it is in their very nature to look as such. If you look a moment longer, their true beauty shines through. Fragments and flashes of vibrant hues gleam brightly. This brilliant, fragmented iridescence is Tyler. We will grieve this loss in perpetuity.
