Thomas (Tom) George Allendorf of Arvada, Colorado passed away on Tuesday October 7, 2025, at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, Colorado from complications of Alzheimer's. He was 84 years old.
Tom was born July 7, 1941, to Charles and Marilla (Basgall) Allendorf and was the oldest of seven children.
He was a native of Denver, Colorado and was raised primarily in the Fort Logan area. Part of his early childhood was spent in Hays, Kansas when his mother left to be with her family while his father served his country overseas.
Tom attended Mullen High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served aboard the USS Constellation, a period of time he talked fondly about. He received an honorable discharge in 1965.
A work ethic to be unmatched, Tom was self-employed most of his life. A janitorial and cleaning business, a motorcycle shop and most recently a home and building inspection company.
Tom is survived by his three children, Brett Allendorf, Jodi Cochran (Bob), and Duane Allendorf (Corrie) and two grandchildren, Jason Refka and Dalton Allendorf.
Tom was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth Allendorf and Barbara Sanchez and is survived by his sisters Alice Allendorf-Koehn (Jim), Carolyn Allendorf, and Cecilia Eames, his brother Charles Allendorf Jr, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial service for Tom will be held on November 7, 2025, at 11:00am at The Crossing Church, 3501 W. 104th Avenue, Westminster, Colorado.
Tom will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on November 14, 2025, at 1:30pm.
