Obituary

Steven "Stevie" Verbeek, a loving and gentle soul, passed away on August 23, 2023, in Denver, Colorado. Stevie was born on May 31, 1961, in Ft Dix, New Jersey, to the late Kenneth Verbeek and Eva Hill. He was a generous man who made a significant impact on everyone he crossed paths with.
Stevie was a dedicated worker and held numerous jobs throughout his life, culminating in his role as an operator at Vforge, Inc. His commitment to his work was evident in the quality of his output and the respect he received from his colleagues. He was a man who believed in the dignity of labor and the value of a job well done.

In addition to his work, Steve had a deep love for fishing, music, and building models. He found peace in the simple act of casting a line into the water and waiting for a bite, and he often found inspiration in the quiet solitude of nature. Music was another of his passions. He appreciated the way a song could stir emotions and create a shared experience among listeners.

Above all else, Steve cherished time spent with his beloved cat, Morgan. They shared a special bond, and it was not uncommon to find them curled up together, enjoying a quiet afternoon.

Steve is survived by his sister, Deborah Shaw, and brother, Darren Verbeek. He was a beloved uncle to his nephews Christopher M. Verbeek, Christopher L. Verbeek, Derick S. Brown, Derald L. Shaw II, Andrew M. Verbeek, and Tristen J. Shaw. Each of them holds cherished memories of their time with Steve.

Steve was a simple man who fought a battle within. He understood the importance of love and kindness, not always able to show it but it was there. Often times, he would give to those who were less fortunate than he and was quick to lend a helping hand to someone on the street,

While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life of Steven "Stevie" Verbeek. He was a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on, a reminder of a life well-lived and a man well-loved.

“Each time we embrace a memory of Steve we meet again… for the heart never forgets”
