Rufina Frances Sandoval

Rufina Frances “Fini/Bon/Scoco” Sandoval passed away unexpectedly in Denver, CO on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the age of 67. Rufina was born on July 10th in Walsenburg, CO, where she lived her life.

Rufina is survived by her children Gabriella Sandoval of Thornton; Adelita (Rymond) Shepherd of Aurora; Joshua Sandoval of Thornton; and her grandson Nicolas (Gabriella). She is preceded in death by her parents Scholastica and J. Gabriel Sandoval, her sister Theresa Sandoval, many relatives, and friends. Rufina is also survived by her brother Joseph G. (Linda) Sandoval; and sisters Lillian (John) Kandybowicz; Anita (Julian) Cisneros; and Judy (David Tibbitts) Sandoval; several nieces and nephews, three great-nieces, cousins, friends and one aunt. Rufina enjoyed spending time with her children celebrating their academic and professional successes, attending professional sporting competitions, talking with her grandson on various topics, talking sports with her son-in-law and playing board as well as video games.

Rufina’s children scheduled funeral services for Friday, June 24th in Walsenburg, CO, at 11am at St. Mary Catholic Church with a Rosary at 10:30am prior to mass. Interment to follow at Saint Marys North Cemetery Walsenburg, CO
