Roger Alan Christianson went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2026, in Denver, CO, surrounded by loved ones and cherished for a life well lived.
Born on May 17, 1947, in Colville, WA, to William H. and Jean Christianson, Roger built a life in Cheney, WA, and the surrounding community. A graduate of Cheney High School’s Class of 1965, Roger went on to study at Eastern Washington University and later worked as a steam plant engineer at the EWU heating and cooling plant. He made his home in Clear Lake, WA, where he took great pride in his property, community, and was a familiar face in Medical Lake and Airway Heights.
Roger leaves behind a beautiful legacy as a devoted son; father to Nicole Lynch; brother to Warren and Eileen Christianson, and Vern and Jane Christianson; and a loving Uncle to Christopher Christianson and Yuki Takeda; Mark and Megumi Christianson; Jeannette & Derrick Tse; Karen and Oni Onizuka; Cathy Mason; Jennifer Christianson; and Samantha Seholm. Roger also had many dear cousins and friends who meant as much to him as he did to them. Roger was a regular fixture at the Christianson Family Reunion and will be deeply missed.
Roger navigated the world with a sense of awe and adventure. A humble veteran of the naval service, he enjoyed all things geology, railroads, and found that playing the slots at the local casino yielded the most “fun per dollar.” He never missed an opportunity for a good pun—his dry, witty sense of humor kept everyone on their toes (or delightfully confused).
The world was a better place with Roger in it, and Nicole is especially thankful for the adventures she shared with her Dad in recent years in Colorado. Roger would often say, “It is well with my soul,” and Nicole prayed, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” over him.
Nicole Lynch hopes to gather with friends and family in Spokane to celebrate Roger’s life and share memories. Tentative plans are being made for Memorial Day weekend Sunday brunch. Nicole also hopes to attend the Christianson Family Reunion July 4, 2026, in Colville to continue honoring and remembering Roger with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Roger’s memory are encouraged to donate to their local church or a charity of their choice. Roger will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane, WA, near his parents, Latah Lawn Lot 9534E-13 & 14
