Richard “Rich” James Segura, born November 29, 1949 to Mike and Rita Segura. Rich was born and raised in the South Side of Denver-College View area. He was the 4th. youngest of 12 brothers and sisters. Rich graduated from Lincoln High School . He went on to work at many of the recreation centers around Denver. He played sports throughout his whole life and was a star at them!! Not only did he play sports...he coached, refereed, and lived his life giving back to not only his community but to the whole city through his love for sports. He touched the lives and was a father figure to so many people and had a way of making them feel like they were family. My father once said "I worked everyday of my life, but I feel like I never worked a day, because I always did what I loved". He dedicated his life to sports, and it was the only language that made sense to him.
Rich loved people. He talked to everybody and prided himself on knowing everyone. He loved to put on his boots and go out dancing every weekend, he was surely a ladies man. His family was always his priority and he loved being a dad, grandfather and uncle... He will always be in our hearts and will surely be missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father Mike and Rita Segura, brothers Pete, Nick, Leroy, and his sister Gloria. He is survived by his sons Ricardo "Carlo", Roberto "Beto", Reynaldo "Andres", Rodrick "Michael" (Danika), Jesse (Gabriela), stepson Mario and his grandchildren, Eugene "Geno", Demarcos, Michael Jr., Sanai, & R'mani Bleu.
