Patricia Ann Funes, known affectionately as Pat to her friends and family, passed away on November 23, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado. Born on June 2, 1958, in Flemington, New Jersey, daughter of Edward and Phyllis Brost, Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gilberto Funes, with whom she shared a life full of love and partnership. She was a cherished sister to William Brost, Susan Baber, and Jeanette Medel. Pat's legacy continues through her children: Jason Jandura, Tanya Ferrell, Natasha Funes, and Anthony Funes. Her ten grandchildren, Callie, Jerrin, Chaaya, Samuel, Jaden, Jedrick, Jolene, Azarahya, Zanaya, and Yamayah, whom will carry forward the cunningness, and strength that she instilled in them.
A Jersey girl at heart (Patty) known to all her friends and family back east was a proud graduate of Hunterdon Central High School. She furthered her education at Mercer County Community College, laying a foundation for her professional and personal accomplishments. She then dedicated years of her life to the dental industry as both an office manager and assistant. All the while she co-founded Green Peace Landscape. After retiring from the dental field she continued to manage the company her and Gilberto built together.
Pat's interests reflected her zest for life and her deep connection to those she loved. She found joy in the kitchen, where traditions were made as great as the delicious meals that brought everyone together. Much of Pat's free time would be spent at soccer games. It is there that she built a team of friendships as she greatly enjoyed the sport and all the excitement it brought to her family.
Pat's legacy is one of love, selflessness, and thoughtfulness. Her ability to connect with people, to make them feel valued and loved, was one of her most memorable gifts. She was a haven for her family, a friend who always put others before herself. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit and the memories she created will forever be a guiding light for her loved ones.
