Oscar Fuentes Obituary

Oscar Fuentes, who was born on March 29, 1959, in Mexico and passed away on August 20, 2026, in Colorado, lived a life marked by love, laughter, faith, and a gift for making people feel at home wherever he went.

Oscar was the kind of man who could walk into a room and change the temperature of it, not because he was loud, but because he was warm. He had a natural way of making people smile, often with a perfectly timed joke, a playful remark, or that look he gave when he knew something funny was about to happen. He was loving in the truest sense of the word, funny without trying too hard, and faith-filled in a way that showed in how he treated others every day. If life handed him a serious moment, Oscar usually found a way to give it a little comic relief, which was his special talent and, frankly, one the rest of us could have used more of.

He was a devoted husband to Rita Fuentes, and together they shared 41 years of marriage built on commitment, partnership, and a whole lot of shared memories. Their life together was a testament to what it means to grow side by side through every season, with enough love to carry them through the hard days and enough humor to make the good days even better. Oscar loved Rita deeply, and anyone who knew them could see that their marriage was rooted in respect, loyalty, and the kind of companionship that only comes from a lifetime of choosing each other again and again.

Oscar was also a proud father to his sons, Everett Fuentes and Cristian Fuentes. He loved being a father and took that role seriously, though never so seriously that he forgot how to laugh. With Everett and his wife Celeste, and Cristian and his wife Giselle, Oscar found joy in watching his family grow and flourish. He was the kind of dad who could offer wisdom, a joke, and maybe a little teasing all in one conversation. His sons will remember not only what he said, but how he made them feel, which was supported, loved, and always part of something bigger than themselves.

His greatest delight came in being a grandfather to Aaliyah, Sebastian, and Damiyann. Oscar adored his grandkids with the kind of enthusiasm that made his face light up and his voice change just a little, as if he had been promoted to a title he was born to hold. He enjoyed their presence, their energy, and the joy they brought into his life. He made room for them in his heart with ease, and they brought out a tenderness in him that was every bit as memorable as his humor. He was the sort of grandfather who could make ordinary moments feel special, and special moments feel unforgettable.

Oscar’s Christian faith was an important part of his life and gave him strength, direction, and peace. He lived with a spirit of gratitude and trust, and his faith was reflected in the way he loved his family and cared for those around him. He was not one to preach with a raised voice when a kind heart and a steady example would do the job better. His life spoke clearly of his beliefs, and he carried himself with a quiet confidence that came from knowing where his hope rested.

Those who knew Oscar will remember his loving nature, his quick wit, and the way he could turn even an ordinary day into a story worth telling. He had a comedian’s sense of timing and a heart that made the humor feel generous rather than performative. He could tease, laugh, and lighten the mood, but he also knew when to listen, when to comfort, and when to simply be present. That combination made him unforgettable.

Oscar leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with deep love and lasting pride. His life was a beautiful blend of faith, family, and laughter, and the impact he made will continue to echo through the generations who knew him. Though he is no longer here in body, the love he gave, the jokes he told, and the example he set will remain part of the family story forever.

He will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and more than a few smiles, because Oscar Fuentes lived in a way that made life brighter for everyone around him.
