Monica Marie Naranjo, affectionately known as Mona by those who knew her best, was a beacon of love and faith in the lives of all who knew her. Born on December 10, 1988, in Greeley, Colorado, Monica was called to her heavenly home on September 11, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Her radiant spirit and passionate heart will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Monica was the cherished daughter of Mary H. Naranjo and the late Francisco A. Naranjo Sr. She was a beloved sister to Veronica Mosqueda, Crystal Ricano, and Francisco Naranjo Jr. Monica’s life was further enriched by the joys of motherhood, lovingly raising three sons: Isaiah, José, and Angel. The quintessence of a nurturing mother, she instilled in them the same love and passion for life that she carried within herself. Monica’s extended family also included 15 adored nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.
A woman of deep faith, Monica was a devout Christian and an active member of The Upper Room Ministry. Her education, culminating in a degree as a Medical Assistant, reflected her innate desire to care for others. However, it was her unwavering commitment to her faith that truly defined her. Monica’s days were often spent in the tranquility of the mountains with her boys or immersed in the pages of her Bible. Her dedication to God's word was evident in her regular attendance at bible studies every Wednesday, where she both learned from and contributed to the spiritual growth of her community.
Monica’s life was a testament to the scripture, "We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19). This verse was the cornerstone of her existence; a creed by which she lived every day. Whether through her work, her ministry, or her interactions with others, Monica’s love for others was a reflection of her love for God. As a person, Monica was the embodiment of love, faith, and passion. She approached every challenge with grace and every joy with gratitude. Her life was a beautiful illustration of the virtues she held dear, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
As we bid farewell to Monica, we do so with the comfort of knowing that she is at peace in the arms of her Savior. While her physical presence will be sorely missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all the lives she touched with her loving and faith-filled nature.
In honor of Monica’s journey, let us remember the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Indeed, Monica has become an indelible part of us, and her memory will forever be cherished as a blessing in our lives.
A celebration of life with be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Upper Room Ministry Church, 919 18th Ave Greeley, Colorado. A reception will follow the services and will be held in the basement.
