Monica Angelina Jezek

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Monica Angelina Jezek, beloved 
mother, “Oma”, sister, and friend. A memorial service for Monica will be held on Friday, January 
9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Indian Tree Golf Club with Pastor David Baca officiating. Arrangements 
are made by Blake Funeral and Cremation Services. This gathering will celebrate Monica's life 
and the impact she had on all those lucky enough to have known her. A beacon of kindness and 
support, Monica's memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Monica was born in Ft. Lewis, WA to Fred and Herta Herrera on September 11, 1953. She grew 
up in Washington, California, Germany, and Italy. She graduated from Washington State 
University (class of 1975) where she met her husband Rob Jezek (class of 1975). They married in 
1977 in Olympia, WA. She worked as a Human Resources professional for the federal 
government for 30+ years in Washington, Colorado, and the Washington D.C. metro area.

Monica is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Rob” Emmett Jezek Jr. (2017), father 
Alfrasio “Fred” Gregorio Herrera (1983), mother Herta Johanna Viktoria (Droese) Herrera 
(2012), brother Anthony “Tony” Frederick Herrera (2017) and daughter Sara Michelle Jezek 
(1989). 

Monica is survived by son Robert “Robbie” Emmett Jezek III and his wife Kimberly Anne; 
daughter Caitlin Erin Jezek; sisters Rosa Maria Lucia Kimmerly and Irene Michelle Goldenberger; 
and Grandsons Michael Robert Jezek and Oliver Emmett Jezek. 

Monica Jezek was a cherished presence in many lives, and her spirit will live on through the 
lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the memories she leaves behind. The family of
