Michael Ralph Colitti Jr., born on May 1, 1938, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to his parents Michael Colitti Sr and Viola Colitti. Michael passed away on August 5, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. He was a cherished father, friend, and respected member of his community, known for his loving nature and intelligent mind.
Michael's journey began in the heart of Connecticut, where he grew up imbued with a strong work ethic and a passion for mechanics. His career as an automotive mechanic was marked by dedication and skill, earning him the respect and trust of all who knew him. Michael's professional life was not just a job; it was a testament to his ability to understand and connect with the intricacies of the machines he worked on, as well as the people who brought them to his care.
Family was the cornerstone of Michael's world. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Ellen "Ellie" Colitti, and a supportive father to his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tammy Colitti; Grandchildren James, Sarah Todd, Megan and Michael Colitti and Great-children Mason, Conner Colitti, Kai and Paxton Prater. As well as numerous loving family and friends especially his "brother" Jack Morgan and Brandon. The love and wisdom he imparted to his family are legacies that will continue to guide them. Michael's warmth and generosity of spirit extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of many who will miss him dearly. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Victor, his son Anthony Michael and daughter Ivy Marie.
Michael's Italian heritage was a source of great pride and joy. He relished his trip to Italy, which was among his favorite travels. These journeys allowed him to connect with his roots, savoring the culture, history, and cuisine that he so loved.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a loving and intelligent man, whose presence brought comfort and whose life was a reflection of the values he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Michael will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever remain a guiding light to his loved ones.
Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 28th. at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church 2201 Dexter St. Denver, CO 80207.
