Mark Andrew Tramp, of Denver, passed away peacefully at age 65 on August 10, 2023, at home and comforted by his life partner, Debra Rowen. Over the last several weeks Mark and Deb were blessed with visits by family and friends and many messages of love and encouragement.
Mark was born on April 14, 1958, in Jackson, Michigan to George Dewey Tramp, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (McGonegal) Tramp. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in Brooklyn, Michigan, class of 1976. In December 1981, Mark moved to Denver with his good friend, John Daniels.
In Denver, Mark pursued his passions for technology and music. For several years he owned and managed LaGuardia’s Lounge where he often played bass guitar with his band, Cheapsuits Blues Band.
A self-taught electrical engineer, Mark was employed at a variety of technical companies. At Chrysler Impact Lab he installed and repaired crash dummy sensors. During his 5 years at AMSI he designed, set up, and operated oil pipeline inspection equipment. That provided Mark opportunities to travel extensively; he spent time in Mexico and the middle east. Mark spoke fluent Spanish, having worked in Mexico for 6 months. For the last 20 years, he provided testing support for security equipment at ADT/Tyco/Johnson Controls.
Mark enjoyed motorcycling riding; he and Deb made several camping trips by motorcycle with their trailer. For many years he joined friends to design and build entries at the annual Raft-O-Rama event on Clark Lake in Michigan.
Mark is survived by his life partner, Debra Rowen; brothers Christian (Mary) Tramp and Paul (Michelle) Tramp; nephews John (Adrianna) Tramp and Daniel Tramp; stepsister Dawn (Duane) Brown and stepbrother Steve (Karyl) England and their children; and numerous friends and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; uncle Frank (Helen) Tramp; aunt Janice (Cris) Crispell; and uncles Robert (Mickey) McGonegal and Larry (Elsie) McGonegal.
A celebration of life will be held at Berkeley Park in Denver on August 26th.
