Mallory "Mal" Crouch Obituary

Mallory "Mal" Jean Crouch (April 21, 1984 – August 27, 2026) was bright, generous, and radiated an unforgettable spirit. To know Mal was to know someone who was a friend to everyone she met, leaving behind fierce loyalty, enduring kindness, and a contagious belly giggle that will forever be the soundtrack to Mal’s life for anyone who had the privilege to know her.

A passionate loyal friend with a deeply empathetic heart, Mal earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver.  She built her own practice, Crouch Counseling, where she helped countless people navigate trauma, PTSD, and addiction. She was also a co-owner of Kellory Inc., carrying on the legacy of the business her late father founded and named after his two daughters, Kellen and Mallory.

Music was the true heartbeat of Mallie’s life—she traveled to music festivals, curated a soundtrack for nearly every moment, and could recognize almost any 80’s song within the first few beats.  There wasn’t any song that wouldn’t send her immediately racing to the dance floor. She had a massive appetite for humor and loved comedy shows, often staying up late laughing endlessly to classic TV like I Love Lucy and Roseanne.

Mal was fueled by strong coffee, spicy food, cooking shows, long hair, fabulous funky nails and true crime podcasts. She loved traveling with her friends—especially to anywhere with a beach—and had a lifelong love for being near the water. A total animal lover, Mal was never without a pet, famously filling small, yardless homes with giant, fluffy dogs. Inheriting a love for the CU Buffs, Mal spent countless Saturdays in Section 203 cheering with her family through every loss, and storming the field for rare wins.  Simply put, Mallie was deeply loved, endlessly human, and she will be missed beyond measure.

She is survived by her mother, Cindy (and was preceded in death by her father, Steve); her sister, Kellen, and brother-in-law, Kimbal; her beloved nieces and nephews, Judah, Sevrin, and Autumn; her dog, Panko, and cat, Sashimi; and an endless community of childhood, college, and adult friends, all of them lifelong.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mal’s honor to the CeDAR (Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation) to support overdose prevention and compassionate addiction recovery in the Denver community.
