Lauren E. Crackel, a generous, intelligent, and creative spirit, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on December 8, 2025, in Arvada, Colorado. Born in Brawley, California, on July 13, 1951, Lauren's passion for knowledge and the English language was evident from an early age. She embarked on her lifelong journey of learning at Van Nuys Jr. College, where she earned her Master of Library & Information Science in English Language and Literature/Letters between 1970 and 1974. Her pursuit of education continued at Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2000 to 2001, enriching her intellectual vigor.
Throughout her accomplished career, Lauren left a lasting impact on every organization she joined. Before her retirement, she dedicated years of service as a Tier II Tech Support Operator at ADT, where her problem-solving abilities and technical expertise were highly valued. Her extensive experience in customer support also shone brightly in her roles at the Trizetto Group, Inc., ASF International, and AT&T. Lauren was well-regarded for her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile for her colleagues and clients alike.
Lauren's interests outside of work were as diverse and vibrant as her character. An avid archer, she found solace in the focus and precision the sport required. Fishing trips were a cherished pastime, providing her with moments of tranquility and connection with nature. Lauren's adventurous side saw her exploring virtual worlds in the video game Everquest, where she met many friends and allies. Her compassion extended to all living creatures, with a particular soft spot for dogs, cats, and horses, whose company she found endlessly comforting.
Her family, though mourning the loss, celebrates the legacy of a soul who touched their lives profoundly. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Lawrence and Mary Crackel, and her brother John Crackel. Lauren's memory is honored by her surviving brother, Paul Crackel, her extended family, her dear friends Storm Walker and Sue Lakari, and by all who knew her.
In her life, Lauren embodied a well-known quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." She lived authentically, inspiring those around her to embrace their unique talents and perspectives.
Lauren will be remembered as a beacon of light and wisdom, whose generosity, intelligence, and creative spirit left an indelible mark on the world. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were privileged to cross paths with her on this journey of life.
