Kyle Francis Hammond passed from this life on May 18, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 24, having succumbed to cancer. He was born on March 2, 2002, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kyle and his twin came to the world through an early birth and miraculously survived nearly three months in the NICU. From the very beginning he carried a light that could be felt by everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived with a joyful spirit, a quick wit, and a heart that seemed always ready to forgive, encourage, comfort, and lift others.
Kyle was a Christian whose life reflected faith, kindness, and gratitude. He had a way of bringing peace to a room and laughter to the hearts of those around him. He was funny, faith-filled, and generous, but those words only begin to describe the kind of man he was. He laughed in a contagious way that invited others to join him. He had a skip in his step, a gift for silly jokes and odd accents, and a special talent for making ordinary moments memorable. His dad jokes were part of his charm.
He loved collecting baseball caps, playing video games with friends, and rating cheeseburgers. These simple joys were part of the fabric of who he was, and revealed a young man who found delight in the little things and appreciated the comfort of companionship. Kyle had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, and he carried himself in a way that made people feel welcomed.
Kyle is lovingly remembered by his father Mark (Martha Briseno) Hammond; mothers Jenifer Hammond and Denise Valencia; siblings Miranda Hammond, Melanie (Ashan) Wettasinghe, Daniella Church, Megan (Roger) Adkins, Scott Hammond, twin Katlyn Holcomb, and Molly Hammond; cat Saphira; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by Scott Valencia Sr.
Though his earthly journey ended too soon, Kyle’s life was not measured by the number of years he lived, but by the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the faith he carried. In moments of sorrow, we are reminded that God does not waste a life surrendered to Him. Kyle’s life demonstrates that even a brief life can shine brightly and leave a lasting mark. He reminded those around him that joy is not a denial of pain, but a declaration that God is still good. He showed that a gentle spirit, a kind word, and a faithful heart can become a sermon all their own.
May his family and friends find comfort in the promises of God and strength in the memories they hold dear; may they remember Kyle’s smile, his humor, his kindness, and the way he made life brighter simply by being himself; may they be encouraged to live with the same faith, joy, and generosity that he so beautifully displayed.
