Kim L. Wick Benedict
November 11, 1956--April 20, 2024
Kim Benedict, of Golden, CO, died unexpectedly on a flight from Minneapolis to Denver, Saturday, April 20. She was returning from visiting her dying aunt in Minnesota.
Making such a visit was typical of this loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She showed up when people needed her.
Kim was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Ralph and Lucille Wick on November 11, 1956. She later moved with her family to the Minneapolis area where she grew up. But she was a Coloradan in her heart. She and her husband, Richard, better known as Beny, knew each other for 33 years and were married for almost 21 of those years.
They met while working in the food industry. And they were a successful business team before they became a couple. Kim was the food and beverage manager and Beny was the executive chef at El Jebel Shrine Auditorium.
They remained a formidable team even after she committed to providing Eggs Benedict to 400 hundred guests without first consulting with him on how he was going to do it. That was just one of their many culinary and catering achievements.
In addition to her soulmate, Beny, Kim is survived by her sons, Andrew of Greeley and Mattew of Golden; Andrew’s wife Kellie and their son, Cavanaugh.
Kim will be cremated and her ashes spread with those of her parents.
