Justin "POKETS" Lucero, known affectionately as Justin a.k.a. Pokets to his friends and fans, left the stage of life for the final time on October 24, 2025. Born on October 15, 1982, in the high-altitude city of 5280 Denver, Colorado.
Justin's journey took him from the Rocky Mountains to the hearts of all who knew him, finally taking his last bow in Henderson, Colorado. For 13 laughter-filled years, Justin shared his life with his beloved wife, and together they raised a trio of daughters, Araya, Evangelina, and Musanique, who inherited their dad's wit and wisdom. Though his son, born of Samantha's love, was a missing
piece of the family puzzle due to a tragic car accident, Justin's love never waned. His mother, Angelina Gladys, and his little sister, Andrea "Sugar" he's loved very much.Samantha and their 3 Daughters were his cheerleaders, always encouraging Justin to turn his dreams into reality.
Justin's hands were magic, and for 16 years, he channeled that magic into his work in HVAC, mastering the arts of installation and supervision. But when life threw a wrench in
the works, he didn't just fix it-he built an entire business from it, ensuring his family's future was as secure as the systems he installed.
The man was a jack-of-all-trades, a master of many: construction, vehicle repair, and the uncrowned king of DIV. But it was music that made his soul dance. Justin loved the spotlight, and the stage was his second home. Whether he was dropping beats with his crew or charming the crowd with his shows, he was always one step away from taking his music to the next level.
Justin was the kind of guy who needed to know the nuts and bolts of everything he touched. His quest for knowledge was as relentless as his humor. He was funny, not just-ha-ha funny, but the kind of funny that sneaks up on you and leaves you in stitches when you least expect it. He was intelligent, not just book-smart, but life-smart, street-smart, and smart enough to know that his three daughters and wife were the real platinum records of his life.
So here's to Justin "Pokets" Lucero, a man who wore many hats-literally and figuratively-whose toolbox was always open, whose beats will forever echo in the hearts of those he loved, and whose laughter will continue to be the soundtrack of their memories. The curtain may have closed, but the encore of his legacy will play on and on.
