John Michael Stoll Jr. was found deceased June 15th, 2024 at the age of 64. He was born in Gary, Indiana to John "Butch" Stoll Sr. and Janet Whiting on June 14th, 1960. He lived in Wheat Ridge, Colorado with his cat Shadow and is survived by his son John Symmes, his brother Jeff Stoll, and his brother Terry Kokas. He was beloved by his friends, neighbors, and his chosen and extended family.
John bounced around between family homes from Indiana to Illinois eventually winding up in Park Forest, Illinois in the Eastgate neighborhood. It was there that he met lifelong friends, including the Mother of his only child, Linda. When Linda and John were dating they decided to move to Colorado when John was only 17. It was here that John finally found a home. He loved nothing more than being in the mountains. Fishing and camping were regular activities throughout his life. He loved riding motorcycles through the canyons and feeling the fresh air breeze through his long hair.
When he wasn’t doing that, you could find him where the music played. If he wasn’t jamming on his guitar then he was at a live show. From Ziggy’s to Red Rocks he had seen every band that he loved many times over. John loved to tell the stories of seeing bands at Red Rocks front row and how he would run up the hill to the venue to save seats for all of his friends. He taught his son the guitar and loved the time they spent jamming together.
A service and reception will be held in his honor, Friday June 28th at 2pm. The location is at the Swiss Gathering and Events 9840 W. 44th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
