John Lawrence Stevenson, beloved partner, brother, nephew, cousin, healer, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. He was 62 years old.
John was born on May 14, 1963, in Los Angeles, California. Throughout his life, he carried a deep sense of curiosity about the world and the human spirit. He once described himself as “a young old man on a path of self-realization and awakening,” a phrase that beautifully captured the wisdom, openness, and spiritual depth that defined him.
A gifted healer and massage therapist, John dedicated much of his life to helping others feel better—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Those who knew him recognized his gentle presence and compassionate nature. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, comforted, and cared for.
John was also a talented artist whose creativity reflected his unique way of seeing the world. His art, like his spirit, was thoughtful, expressive, and deeply personal.
Above all, John was known for his extraordinary kindness. He would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to someone in need. His heart was generous and open, and his kindness extended not only to the people he loved but also to strangers who crossed his path. There was a childlike wonder about him—playful, sincere, and pure—that made him unforgettable to those fortunate enough to know him.
John shared a profound and loving partnership with Dana Lynn Litman, his life partner and twin flame, with whom he shared deep love, connection, and spiritual companionship.
He is survived by his brothers, Christopher Stevenson and Knute Stevenson; his aunts, Marsha Beynon, Solveig Archer, and Mary Evjen; and his cousins, Richard Beynon, Rachel Beynon, and Romy Archer. He also leaves behind many friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and healing spirit.
Dana Lynn Litman plans to hold a Celebration of Life for John in the late spring or early summer, when the weather warms. Friends and loved ones who would like to attend are invited to email Dana at dlitman66@icloud.com to receive details once a date is set.
John will be remembered for his compassionate heart, artistic soul, spiritual depth, and the quiet yet powerful way he made the world a kinder place.
He was the love of my life, my person, my twin flame, and my greatest spiritual companion.
