Obituary

John William Hedlund, Jr., known fondly by all as John, passed away peacefully from heart failure on September 5, 2023, in Arvada, CO. Born on June 18, 1964, in Fairfield, IA, he was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many.

John was the cherished son of Patricia A. Gwin and the late John William Hedlund, Sr. He was the treasured brother of Diana Midge and Mary Watters. His family remembers him as a spirited and adventurous soul who brought joy and inspiration to their lives.

John was a proud graduate of Salina High School South, where he was known for his energetic spirit and handy skills. His education further expanded with various courses at Red Rocks Community College, where he developed a strong foundation that would serve him well in his professional life.

John’s professional journey was marked by dedication and an unparalleled work ethic. He served as a supervisor at BELFOR Property Restoration company, where his leadership skills and commitment to excellence were evident. He was also a skilled craftsman at C&C Construction. His colleagues remember him as a reliable and hardworking individual who led by example.

John's adventurous spirit was not confined to his professional life. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed the challenge and camaraderie of the game. He also found joy in riding motorcycles, the wind in his hair symbolizing the freedom and thrill he sought in life. Yet, he was also a man of simple pleasures, who loved nothing more than walking his beloved dog, Roxie, in the park.

John was more than just the sum of his achievements and hobbies. He was a man of character, embodying the qualities of being adventurous, handy, and spirited. His adventurous nature was reflected in his love for golf and motorcycles, while his handy skills were evident in his professional life. But it was his spirited personality that left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His zest for life was contagious, and he had a knack for making every moment count.

John's passing is a significant loss, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his dedication to his work, and his love for his family and friends. His life was a testament to living fully and passionately, and those who were lucky enough to know him will forever carry his spirit within them.

John William Hedlund, Jr., will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His life was a journey filled with adventure, passion, and love, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. May his adventurous spirit find peace and freedom in the great beyond. John's life was a beautiful journey, and we are grateful for the time we shared with him. Farewell, dear John, until we meet again
