James William Turner, born on December 5, 1938, in Englewood, Colorado, passed away on October 4, 2024, in Thornton, Colorado. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
James, affectionately known as Jim the old bike guy until after is accident. Then know as Jim the old guy to his friends and family, was the loving husband of Lula Turner for 61 years and the proud dad of Barbara Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Orma Turner; who instilled in him the values of kindness and dedication that he carried throughout his life. He was also preceded in death by his sister Darlene Warren and brother Bob Turner,
Jim graduated Burlington High School in 1957, then served over 4 years in the United States Navy. After Jim's tour of duty in the Navy he started his career at Western Electric as a telephone installer then was promoted to a supervisor at AT&T which spanned over 30 years, where he was not only respected for his work ethic but also cherished for his ability to connect with his colleagues on a personal level. His involvement in various associations within his field demonstrated his commitment to both his profession and his community.
Those who knew Jim would describe him as the epitome of loving. His warm presence and generous spirit were a comfort to all. He had a knack for making people feel valued and loved, a trait that endeared him to many.
Jim's legacy is one of love, service, and the joy he brought to every life he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will continue to be a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
Celebration of Life 12:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22nd at The Crossing Church of the Nazarene 3501 W. 104th. Ave. Westminster, CO 80031.
Interment with military honors to follow service 2:30PM, Fort Logan National Cemetery. Please arrive at staging area "B" by 2:15 PM
