Jeanette Richard

Jeanette was a transplant from Lake Charles, Louisiana to Denver, Colorado. With heavy hearts, we share that our mother, who was, funny, feisty, and ever loving, passed on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the age of 85 in the Emergency Room at Anschutz Medical Pavilion in Denver, Colorado from a broken heart (aortic dissection).

Jeanette was born in New York, NY and moved at the age of 12 to Lake Charles, Louisiana, and lived there for over 66 years, professionally she was a Calcasieu Parish Court Report for 40 years, both civil and criminal. She went by many names; Jeanette, Baby, Mom, Mama J., Nette, and Grammy. She gave love and was loved back by many. Jeanette is survived by the following children: Melinda Christ from Denver, CO., Vickie Wessel (John) from St. Croix VI, Lecia Gill from Denver, CO., Charlane Compton (Jack) from Madison GA., and Velarie Frusha (John) from Praireville, LA. Jeanette was blessed with 17 grand-children and 14 great grandchildren.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Leon Vicari, her brother Frank Vicari, her son Charles Warren Richard, Jr., and the love of her life, Charles Warren Richard, Sr. from Lake Charles, LA. After Charles’s death she relocated to Denver, CO. to live near family.

Services will be held in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral: 10:30 Family Greetings, 11:00 Rosary with Mass to follow, 1:00-ish Celebration of Life at The Cellar at Crave.
