Jean Marie Fries, affectionately known as Jeanne, embarked on life's ultimate journey on June 19, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family in Lafayette, CO. Born on the brisk autumn day of October 30, 1944, in Laurens, IA. She was a magnet for friendship, cherishing the countless bonds formed throughout her life's journey. A woman whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Jeanne's professional journey was as diverse as it was fulfilling. Her first job was playing the Saxophone and French horn in the Frank Jonas Dance Band in Iowa during her high school years. Although she aspired to be a scientist while at UNC studying Math and working at Hewlett Packard, Jeanne found her true calling as a devoted and loving stay-at-home mom. She applied her scientific precision to the art of child-rearing, cooking, and gardening. In later years her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own carpet shop. Her career path culminated in the insurance industry, where she shared her expertise and care through American Family, before finally establishing and retiring from her own agency with Farmers.
Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Jeanne's love for her family was her guiding force. She entered heaven's embrace, joining her beloved spouse, Tim Lee, and granddaughters, Alea and Alicia. Her legacy continues through her cherished children, John (Tina) Crider, Leisa (Sergio) Ramirez, Jeff Crider, and her adored grandchildren, Michael, Nick, Ben, and Dani.
Raised on a farm in a small town, Jeanne's passion for the earth's bounty never waned. She returned to farm life in Colorado, taking pride in growing and enjoying fresh, natural food. Her heart always held a special place for horses, dedicating time to riding, breeding, showing, and caring for these magnificent creatures. Jeanne's zest for life included cheering at Bronco games, sharing laughter at Tim's jokes, competing in pool league, and enjoying time spent with the many friends she made throughout her life's journey.
Her motivational spirit is aptly captured in the words of Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Indeed, Jeanne lived as though each day was a daring adventure, greeting each sunrise with a heart full of purpose and nights with a soul full of gratitude. Her story inspires us to embrace life's journey with courage, love, and a touch of whimsy.
We celebrate Jeanne—a spirited, loving, and adventurous soul who lived life to the fullest. Her story is one of unwavering love, boundless enthusiasm, and a legacy of joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Jeanne Marie Fries, your melody will forever play in the hearts of those you've touched. Your journey was indeed a daring adventure, and your memory will be cherished eternally.
