James Lawler, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Thornton, Colorado, on July 29, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on January 5, 1996, in Denver, Colorado, to Kelly Lawler and the late Randy Lawler, James grew up with a zest for life that was truly contagious.
From a young age, James exhibited an intelligence that surpassed his years, a trait that would define his approach to life's challenges and adventures. He was a loving soul, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word, and his adventurous spirit led him to embrace a wide array of interests. James was a dedicated practitioner of karate, a sport that taught him discipline and respect, values he carried into every aspect of his life. He was also an avid fisherman, often found casting a line into the serene waters of Colorado's lakes and streams.
James's love for basketball was well-known amongst his friends and family, and his competitive yet fair play made him a respected figure on the courts. Riding bikes and swimming were more than just hobbies; they were ways in which James connected with others and with the natural world around him. His passion for the outdoors was perhaps best seen in his frequent trips to the mountains, where he felt most at peace.
Preceded in death by his father, Randy Lawler, and sister, Jessica, James's memory will be treasured and kept alive by his loving mother, Kelly Lawler; his sister, Rebecca Lawler Dock; his brother, Joshua Lawler; and the many family members and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." James embodied this sentiment, constantly striving to be the best version of himself – intelligent, adventurous, and loving.
James Lawler's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact that one individual can have on the lives of many. He will be remembered not just for the things he did, but for the person he was, and the love he gave so freely. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to live life to the fullest, as he so passionately did.
