Jack Leroy Dean was born on March 17th, 1940, in Denver, Colorado. He passed away on May 15th, 2024, in Thornton, Colorado, after a very sudden decline in his health.
His strong work ethic allowed him to cultivate a long and impressive career as a Field Technician with US West, where he made lasting friendships. His hard work and dedication allowed his family to blossom; he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Schultz, his son, Mike Dean, his three grandchildren, John Dean, Josh Dean and Krysty Malys, and his two great-grandchildren, Bo Malys and Layla Dean. He truly loved each of them - and if you knew him, you knew it. He will live on through the family who will love, remember, and cherish all of the incredible memories built together.
Jack was well known for his regular outings to his local diner, where he invited friendship and laughter with witty banter and genuine connection. He adored his dog, Bugsy, and brought him everywhere he could. This included frequent trips to the local Goodwill, hunting for a bargain find to gift at the next family gathering. In most recent years, this mainly included diaper shopping for his two great grandchildren.
Even through the difficulties aging invites, Jack found joy and love in his family, over the moon to be able to meet his great grandson, Bo, and his great granddaughter, Layla. He had a wild and ornery streak not even father time could tame and loved engaging in a good verbal jousting match. Over the years, the family gathered around the table often, whether for a birthday or holiday, and he always made a point to show up and love on his family.
Jack will be missed every day as a man who lived a long and full life, enriched by the love of his family and the respect of his peers. Jack's memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved him. He’s sitting on a comfy recliner in Heaven, watching the Broncos on an unbreakable win-streak, waiting for Bugsy to come join him and munch on a pork chop.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Swiss Cottage Event Center 9890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Reception to follow.
