Gwen E. Finley

Gwen Ellen Finley of Arvada passed away at home Tuesday evening February 23rd, 2021 of bladder cancer at the age of 80. She was born to Marjorie E and William C. Anderson in Huron South Dakota on August 22, 1940.

She attended various schools in various locations including Japan while her father served in the U.S. Air Force weather division. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation, her new life started with a move to Denver to look for a job and excitement.

Gwen met Wayne square dancing with the Fiddle Steppers square dance club. They were married in April 1971 and moved to Arvada and had two sons, Barry and Curt. She was highly active in PTA serving as President at Barry and Curt's elementary school. She was a stay-at-home mother before working as an insurance and medical transcriptionist.

The love of her life was her three granddaughters and loved to take them shopping and enjoying their school activities. Gwen is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years Wayne L. Finley, her sons Barry and Curt[Becky] both of Arvada, sister Kaye Wallerich [Ron] Littleton CO. numerous nieces and nephews and granddaughters Hannah, Cadence and Addyson.
