Gene Roediger

Gene Roediger, 45, passed away on August 21, 2026, after being the victim of a tragic hit-and-run accident in Adams County, Colorado.

Born and raised in Glendo, Wyoming, Gene was a man who worked with his hands and took pride in his trade as a welder. Throughout his life, welding was more than a job—it was the work he knew best and the craft through which he earned his living.

As a young man, Gene enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, beginning a chapter of service that reflected his desire to forge his own path. Life, however, was not always kind to Gene. He faced many personal challenges, including a long battle with alcohol use disorder (AUD). Like many who live with addiction, he experienced hardships that often overshadowed the person he was. Those struggles, however, do not define the entirety of his life.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Julie Russell. He is survived by his siblings, Sawyer Russell, Craig Russell, Sarah Inzana, and Jacie Hite, along with extended family members and friends who will remember him with love, compassion, and understanding.

Gene’s life was not measured by perfection but by perseverance. Though his journey was often difficult, his family chooses to remember the man behind the struggles—a brother, a son, and a skilled tradesman who spent much of his life building and creating with his hands.

We take comfort in believing that Gene has now found the peace that was often difficult to find during his years on earth.

A remembrance service for Gene will be held at the Town of Glendo Cemetery on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family, friends, and anyone whose life crossed paths with Gene are welcome to join us as we gather to remember him and say goodbye.

Following the service, food and refreshments will be available at 119 N. Yellowstone Hwy., Glendo, Wyoming. Anyone who would like to stop by, share a memory or story about Gene, reconnect with family and friends, or simply spend some time together is warmly welcome.
