Evelyn Frances Bridgett

Evelyn Frances Bridgett went to join her Lord and Savior on January 4th, 2022 in Arvada, CO.  She was 95.  Her passing came as a result of a fall a month prior.  She was born Evelyn Frances Lenz on September 13th, 1926 in Fayette County, Iowa to Martin and Inez Lenz.  After graduating from Oelwein High School at 16, Evelyn attended the Jennie Edmondson School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa, which she was able to attend at age 17 with nurses in short supply during WWII. 

                                                                                                    
While working as a nurse in Sioux City, Iowa, she met her future husband Arthur Donald Bridgett.  They married at the Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, Iowa on June 28th 1952.  After her first child was born in 1960, Evelyn devoted most of her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.                                                                                                                           
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her five siblings.  Evelyn is survived by her daughter Joan Bridgett and son-in-law, James Annable of Arvada, CO, as well as her son, Lowell Bridgett and daughter-in-law, Arliss Bridgett nee Melvin, of Grand Junction, CO, and her two grandchildren David and Abigail Bridgett, along with many nieces and nephews.  Evelyn will be sorely missed by her family and all those who knew her.                                                                                                                                                                                                
She will be laid to rest at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, IA next to her parents.
