The family of Ernesto (Ernest) Felix Gonzales is so heartbroken to announce his unexpected passing on June 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Ernest’s sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who loved him.
Born on July 5, 1957, to Felix Gonzales and Mary D. Elizondo (Peralta), both of whom preceded him in death, Ernest was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Janetta Gonzales, who will miss him dearly. Together for 32 years and married for 26, Ernest and Janetta lovingly raised their blended family, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.
Ernest was a proud and devoted father to Ernest Gonzales (Sylvia), Jacob Gonzales (Melissa), Vanessa Martinez (Patrick), Michael Ochoa (Margie), and Emilio Gonzales. His children loved him deeply and will forever carry his strength, humor, and wisdom in their hearts. Ernest’s legacy continues through his 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply.
One of eight siblings, Ernest is survived by Joseph (Stella), Rose, Jesse, and David (Christine). He is now reunited with his brothers Christopher, Adolfo, and Guadalupe, who preceded him in death.
In his younger years, Ernest liked tennis, softball, bowling, hunting, and being outdoors. He continued to embrace life through camping, fishing, bike riding, and most importantly—spending quality time with family. Known for his sense of humor and playful spirit, Ernest was a jokester who liked to scare others but didn’t like being scared himself.
A natural problem solver and generous soul, Ernest was the one everyone called for help or advice. No matter the situation, he would drop everything to lend a hand. His heart was as strong as his hands.
Professionally, Ernest was a welder—a craft he was passionate about—but he was truly a jack of all trades. Whether it was electrical work, plumbing, automotive repair, remodeling, or flooring, Ernest could do it all. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would teach himself. He was a man of endless capability and tireless dedication.
Ernest was a remarkable man whose kindness, wisdom, and love touched countless lives. He will be missed by many. His heartfelt talks, unwavering support, and selfless contributions to his family will never go unnoticed or unappreciated. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
