Donald Wasielewski Obituary

Donald P. Wasielewski, known affectionately as Don, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado. Born in Beth Page, New York, on August 17, 1958, Don's life was one rich with passion, purpose, and joy. He was a beacon of kindness and humor, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

Don's early years in New York set the stage for a life of curiosity and hands-on learning. His educational journey took him to the Auto and Diesel school in Denver, Colorado, where he acquired skills that would define his career path. Don's industrious nature was evident through his achievements, which included earning his CDL license and his NACE inspection certificate, demonstrating his commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Don's vocational path was as diverse as it was impressive. His first role after schooling was with Conoco, where he began to hone his craft. Over the years, he worked with Johnny's Lawn Care, McCoys Christmas Trees, and his final and most cherished 20 years with Coblaco Services. Don was also known for his willingness to lend a hand, helping friends build houses and always being there when asked. His diligence and pride in his work were matched only by his kindness and reliability as a friend.

His dedication to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his family. Don is preceded in death by his loving parents, Theodore D. Wasielewski and Vera Mae Wasielewski. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his wife, Alisa McAvinchey, her daughters and grandchildren, Jenna and Bruce, Kirstin and Ryley. His sister and her family, Toni, Tim, Spencer, Sarah, Shawn, Shannon, and Stephanie, his brother and his family, David, Tonya, and Jacob, and his cousin, JoAnn Cetnarowski, will cherish his memory, as will his many beloved friends.

A man of faith, Don's Christian beliefs were a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and comfort throughout his years. His interests were as varied as his skills. A lover of music and good food, Don was an exceptional cook who delighted in sharing meals with his loved ones. His adventures with Coblaco took him to different areas, and he reveled in the experiences and the people he met along the way.

Don's life was one of joy and laughter. He was the embodiment of kindness, always ready with a joke or a helpful hand. He approached life with a handyman's ingenuity and a comedian's timing, ensuring that those around him were never without a smile.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Don truly succeeded in every sense of Emerson's meaning.

As we say goodbye to Donald P. Wasielewski, we celebrate a life lived with love, laughter, and a profound ability to touch the lives of others. His spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Don's journey through life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were graced by his presence.
