Denise Michelle LeBouef, born under the gentle skies of Honolulu, Hawaii, on July 10, 1966, embarked on her final journey from Denver, Colorado, on May 17, 2025, after a valiant battle with complications from pneumonia. Denise, known for her vivacious spirit and boundless optimism, leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the warm afterglow of her generous heart.
A daughter to Janice and a sister to Todd and David, Denise's familial bonds were as deep as the ocean surrounding her island birthplace. Her life was further enriched by her loving husband of over two decades, Patrick Schielke, with whom she shared the joys and trials of life's grand tapestry. Denise's legacy is carried forward by her devoted children, Anthony James Marino, and his wife Rainbow, and Jennifer Holich, partnered with Cage Godlewski. Her grandchildren, Everly and James Holich, will grow under the canopy of her loving memory.
Denise's educational pursuit was as vast and varied as the world itself, with her insatiable curiosity leading her to study at multiple schools throughout her life. Professionally, she excelled as a saleswoman of high-end furniture, imbuing every transaction with her personal touch and sparkling intelligence.
Her life, like a sonnet penned by the immortal Shakespeare, was composed of measured beats and a rhythm that resonated with many. Denise's spirit was not confined by the mortal coil, for she was a creature of boundless spiritual energy, finding solace and connection in the intangible essence that unites all beings.
A connoisseur of melody, Denise's love for music was surpassed only by her passion for sewing, a craft through which she wove her soul into every stitch. Her adventures with her daughter at thrift stores were quests for the unique, each find a treasure trove of stories and future memories, especially those destined for her adored grandchildren.
She also adored animals, because of her kind and loving spirit she rescued Wizard and later her beloved bengal Savannah, and now will be missed by her two Bengals that she recently welcomed into her and Patrick's home, Leo and Constantine.
In Denise's life, one could see the reflection of the words of the great poet Emily Dickinson: "That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet." Her optimism was the beacon that illuminated the path for those around her, while her generosity knew no bounds, as she gave freely of herself to all who crossed her path.
Denise Michelle LeBouef, an intelligent, optimistic, and generous soul, has left an indelible mark upon this world. Her departure is not an end, but a transformation, as she joins the eternal and the infinite. Her story, her laughter, and her love remain with us, as vibrant and as poignant as the day she first graced this world with her presence. In her memory, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, passion, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of the human spirit.
