Deidra Desiree Mascarenes opened her eyes to find herself in the arms of Jesus on October 5, 2023. She was born on January 6, 1952 to Ben and Ernestine Mascarenes in Arizona. Making her way to Colorado as a small child with her parents, five brothers (Ernie, Carlos, Ricky, Stevie & Allie) and three sisters (Josie, Loretta & Benita) is where she spent the duration of her life. She met and married her high school sweetheart John Gallegos and soon after, they had their two daughters, Priscilla and Regina (David).
From that point on, Deidra dedicated her life to pouring all that she had and all that she was into her two girls and later her grandchildren (Davelle, Alek (Kylie), Gina (Ryan) and Jason). Nothing delighted her more than when her great grandchildren were born (Amaris, Analeigh and Harrison). She lived to love big and demonstrated nothing less than constant love, kindness, care and tenderness.
Deidra’s love for the Lord was infectious and was truly the main source of the Christian lives of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a great appreciation for long nature walks, decorating, self-care, and all the beautiful gifts from God, Himself. She was strong, funny, determined, independent, intelligent and had an innate ability to fix and solve any problem before her, making everything better than how she found it. Indeed, that is exactly how she left this world, leaving everything and everyone better than we could have ever imagined. She was a beacon of light that will continue to shine upon those that loved and adored her. Forever to be cherished and considered the greatest treasure here on earth, a true rare and flawless diamond.
Inevitably, hearts are broken by her absence here with us but we are comforted that we will see her again someday and are grateful to have been blessed with so many years of magical memories with her.
