Alex Acker Obituary

Alex (Bud) Harry Acker was born on January 15, 1940, in Colorado, to Alex Stanley Acker and Helen (Birdie) Roberta Acker. He graduated from Golden High School in 1958. Alex married Marie Clara Greenfield January 15, 1966. Alex was an amazing daddy to his children Lynn, Deb, Alex (Buddy) and Peter. He worked for Carquest and other auto part stores for 45 years, at which point he retired. He took a peanut butter sandwich for lunch every single day. His peanut butter had to be smoothed out level after every use, as did his ice cream. You better believe that you would hear about it if you were the last to use either and didn't smooth them out. The quote, "a place for everything and everything in it's place" describes him to a tee. He had a spot for his things and they were expected to be returned where they came from after every use. He had an ice cream bucket he kept his tortilla chips in, but you had to make sure to only eat the broken ones before the whole chips. He loved his sweets and always had a stash, peppermint candies were one of his favorites. He would spend Saturday mornings watching cartoons and eating cereal with his grandkids when they were young. Bud had a knack for scaring people and used to get great joy out of jumping out from behind doors or around corners. He had amazing style and is remembered for his hats, suspenders, brown suit, jumpsuits and ties of various prints and colors. Oh, and we can't forget the hook; he enjoyed chasing the kids around pretending to be captain hook in his younger years. Bud was usually found tinkering in the garage or out in the field rototilling in his tractor for hours on end. Even with one hand he could tighten a bolt so tight that even Grandpa Greenfield couldn't loosen it. He loved sitting by a fire and spending time with family. He was an amazing, hard-working man and was constantly teaching us all. Alex (Bud) went to sleep in his own bed at home and woke up in heaven, whole and pain-free. While we all miss him greatly, we know he is in a better place. His greatness was just too much for this world to handle any longer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alex S. Acker, his mother, Helen (Birdie) R. Acker, his brother, Robert R. Acker, his brother, Richard E. Acker, his grandson, Jeromy P. Naslund, his nephew, Randy R. Krattli and his sister-in-law, Shirley E. Greenfield

He is survived by his loving wife Marie C. Acker.  His brother, William (Stan) S. Acker.  His children: Lynn Acker, Deb Acker, Alex (Buddy) Acker and wife Mitzi, Peter Acker and wife Dawn.  His grandchildren: Tiffany Acker, Robert Acker, Danielle Stephens, Jamie Acker, Michael Acker and Dee Naslund (Jeromy Naslund's wife).  His great grandchildren: Matthew Cullum, Jeromy Jr. Naslund, Tashia Naslund, Danyel Naslund, Kodi Smith (Garrett), Jarit Krejci (Amanda), Jil Maldonado, Joshua Sellers, Talia Acker, Alex Acker, Scott Stephens, Meika Stephens and Mark Stephens.  His great-great grandchildren: David Carillo, Anthony Aguilar, Jeremy Aguilar, Ben Lamborn, Willow Brand, Kolt Smith, Wesson Smith, Ella Krejci and Cyris Cullum.  As well as his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
